She believes everyone is capable of designing a life they love, regardless of their life experiences. Cortney has learned firsthand how our life experiences and unresolved emotional pain can have lasting effects on our nervous system and mental health. Through powerful storytelling, foundational tools and trauma-informed resources, she empowers audiences and individuals to understand and befriend their nervous system in order to see their own behaviors through a lens of curiosity and self-compassion. Her integrative approach helps people to identify and change the patterns keeping them stuck so they can finally thrive!
As a childhood trauma survivor, Cortney has learned firsthand how life experiences, unresolved emotional pain and trauma can hinder our lives physically, emotionally and spiritually. Cortney's story, which includes nine of the ten most common Adverse Childhood Experiences, prompted her to help survivors validate and acknowledge their pain, while empowering them to recognize they have the power and choice to overcome it. She is an advocate for youth and adult survivors of childhood trauma and helps to bring awareness and tools to the world in an effort to intervene and stop the generational cycles of abuse, neglect and dysfunction.

Cortney was nominated as one of Nashville's Top 30 Under 30 for her philanthropic and advocacy efforts in Middle Tennessee. She's also been featured by publications such as The Mighty, Brit +Co & Yahoo.
Her client list includes organizations across the nation such as GoNoodle, Purdue University and The University of Maryland. She has also delivered authentic and trauma-informed programs to numerous high school students and professional development programs on Adverse Childhood Experiences to high school faculty and administration.
Cortney is also a State of Tennessee Certified Public Accountant, serving clients as an independent financial consultant. Becoming a CPA was a pivotal milestone in Cortney's journey because it demonstrated her ability to attain any goal she set her mind to, regardless of her past experiences. She began her career at Ernst & Young, LLP where she served clients for four years in the Audit and Assurance service line. She is a Summa Cum Laude Graduate of The University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and obtained her Master of Accountancy from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She was raised in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and is an honors graduate of Mt. Juliet High School.
