I’ve been exactly where you are. I’ve carried the responsibility of everything and everyone. I’ve gotten to the end of every to do list and felt anything but accomplished. I’ve woken up tired because, great, here’s another day just like all the ones before it.

I was 26 before I could talk about any of the things I’d spent a lifetime trying to hide. Unidentified childhood trauma meant I moved through life wearing a mask to cover up my constant fear, shame and feelings of unworthiness. And all that time, it looked like I was “succeeding” to everyone else.

I’m not a quitter though, and my guess is you aren’t either. You’re what I like to call a highly resilient, ambitious woman. So, that means we’ll keep on keepin’ on until we can keep on no more. And even though we feel like a ticking time bomb, it’s clear the only thing worse than going off would be for someone else to witness the explosion. So, we smile bigger and work harder. And the cycle continues.

But I’m not accepting that fate. And neither should you.

One day someone gave me the gift of sharing their own story and space for me to do the same. For the first time in my life, I could feel the mask slipping away. I started to heal.

Look, in its most basic definition, trauma is any emotionally or psychologically overwhelming event, or series of events, that temporarily leaves you without a sense of power, safety or control. And when the nervous system gets overwhelmed, it makes it really hard to grow and develop in healthy ways.

 

With a trauma-informed approach to life coaching, I’m able to walk you through a process designed to help heal your nervous system from the inside out. During coaching, I’ll walk you through how to:
